Summary
Singapore is an island with beautiful stretches of beaches. The main ones are found along the northern and eastern coastlines. Each has its special characteristics from casuarina tree-lined to wide open beaches. You will also be able to find white pristine beaches on popular offshore islands such as Sentosa and Pulau Ubin as well as the less frequented islands like St John's Island, Sisters Island, etc.
Facilities found at the beaches vary from location to location. Some have no facilities at all whilst others have changing rooms and showers. Some beaches also have chalets that you can rent and stay the night; bicycles and roller-blades rental kiosks; canoeing and kayaking rental kiosks; and restaurants and beach bars.
The most popular beaches with full facilities are found along East Coast Park on the main island of Singapore and Siloso Beach or Palawan Beach on Sentosa. Sentosa is also popular for beach sports such as beach volleyball. For more rustic but just as beautiful beaches with some basic changing and showering facilities, check out the beaches at Changi Beach Park, Sentosa’s Tanjong Beach and Sembawang Park.
Other beaches include Punggol Beach, Pasir Ris Park beach, West Coast Park beach, Kallang Riverside Park beach.
