Singapore has grown in the last one to two decades in the number of events held, with an expanding variety ranging from festivals to entertainment events such as classical/pop/rock concerts, musicals, plays, sports events, art exhibitions, etc., and business events such as conferences, exhibitions, etc.
Being a multi-cultural country, Singapore is a great place to witness festivals from the different ethnic groups. The four main ethnic quarters of Singapore are decorated and lighted up during their respective main festivals. Take a walk through Geyland Serai during the Malay Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations or experience the fireworks display during Chinese New Year celebrations.
If you enjoy arts or sports, Singapore brings in well-known works and events. Past exhibitions included the Greek Masterpieces from the Louvre, Fernando Botero's art and sculptures, etc. Singers and music groups such as Suzanne Vega, Air Supply, The Click Five, The Black Eyed Peas, to name a few, have been to Singapore. Sports events include the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Aviva Open Singapore, etc.
Other well-known events to look out for include the Singapore Airshow, the Singapore Arts Festival, the Singapore Garden Festival, the Singapore Toy and Comics Convention, etc.
