Summary
The climate in Singapore is more or less consistent throughout the year. A great place to get a tan, Singapore is sunny, warm and humid with intermittent rain all year round. Wetter, cooler months are from November to January whilst the drier, hotter months are from June to August.
Humidity is probably the first thing that hits you when you arrive in Singapore, but a good shower and an airconditioned hotel room or shopping mall will help you adjust in no time.
The warm, sunny weather in Singapore makes it ideal to check out the beaches on Sentosa, East Coast, Changi, etc. It also makes it easy to visit the many outdoor places such as the zoo and the birdpark; or wander through small streets in Chinatown and Little India.
When it rains, it is often sudden and heavy but it does not last more than a couple of hours, making it the perfect excuse for a couple of extra hours in the shopping mall. During the wetter monsoon months, there may be more rain throughout the day. But it makes the day cooler. Occasionally, lightning and thunder precedes the rain, making it quite an exciting experience.

Tips
Its a good idea to carry a small foldable umbrella or light poncho with you for those occasions when youre nowhere near a shelter and it rains.

During a thunderstorm, remember to stay out of swimming pools, open areas such as golf courses and unprotected areas such as under trees and open shelters. Lightning has been known to strike!
